Ingredients:
1 cup chana dal
2 onions
1 tbsp. ginger garlic paste
2 tsps. Chilli powder
1 tsp. sugar
8 peppercorns
Salt to taste
1/2 kg. mutton
2 tomatoes
1 tsp. turmeric powder
1 tsp. garam masala powder
1/2 cup oil or ghee
1/2 cup coriander leaves
Method
- Soak dal in water for 3 hours and boil till soft but separate.
- Clean mutton and mix with chilli, turmeric and garam masala powders, salt, sugar to taste, ginger garlic paste. Grind chopped onions and tomatoes.
- Heat oil or ghee in a pressure cooker and add the peppercorns, meat and fry briskly. Add onion/tomato paste and fry well. Add 2&1/2 cups of hot water and pressure cooker for 15-20 mins. till meat is soft. Add cooked chana dal and blend.
- Add water if necessary. Simmer. Sprinkle coriander leaves over and serve with parathas.
